Blue Mountains National Park!

Hello everyone!

Got another place crossed off my list yesterday! The day started early with waking up around 6 to leave at 7 with a tour bus to go to the Blue Mountains National Park. The bus ride was about 2 hours with a stop to get coffee.

If these were three girls...they were pretty big girls
There were a ton of little nature hikes with a few views. The first view was at Echo Point, and it was the Three Sisters. These are three stone mountains. The aboriginal people believe that these statues originated from a past event. Theory is that three girls from the local tribe fell in love with three boys from the tribe over the river. In order to get the girls hand they devided to fight for them but to keep them safe they put a curse on them so that they would turn into rock statues, and once the battle was won they would come back for them. Legend has it is they died and never came back for them. A little out of left field for the averge person, but hey!

Next stop along the tour was to go throw boomerangs. Boomerangs are supposed to be a hunting tool.  The aboriginal people would throw them and they would hit kangaroos in the head to knock them out and then the boommerang would come back to them. As you can see... I wouldn't be the best Kangaroo hunter.

After this little adventure we headed to our 90 minute hike to Wentworth Falls and the Stairs of Doom. The hike was pretty nice and laid back until we hit the stairs of doom. These stairs took you all the way down to the bottom of the waterfall. As Ashley's fit bit recorded, the entire day we completed 104 flights of stairs.
View from the bottom of the Stairs of Doom!
Coming back up the Stairs of Doom
trying to look like I'm not dying.
The day was beautiful! Don't forget to keep up with all my trip's photos in the link located on the right hand side of the main blog page (Study Abroad Photo Album).

Till next week's trip to the Great Barrier Reef!

xoxo,

Christine

P.S. They have Chicken flavored chips here. And they are quite disgusting in my opinion. Imagine opening a seasoning packet of Chicken Ramen and eating it. YUCK!
